Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning through a multicultural approach in high schools. The multicultural approach in education is designed to enhance students' understanding of cultural and religious diversity, and to promote values of tolerance and inclusivity. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The research findings show that the implementation of a multicultural approach in PAI learning is carried out through various strategies, such as the integration of multicultural content into the PAI curriculum, the use of interactive learning methods, and the development of extracurricular activities that emphasize cultural diversity. PAI teachers play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment that respects differences. The findings also indicate that this approach successfully increases students' understanding of the importance of interfaith tolerance and strengthens positive attitudes toward diversity. Challenges faced in the implementation include a lack of support from some parties and limited resources. This study concludes that the implementation of a multicultural approach in PAI learning can enrich students' learning experiences, promote human values, and contribute to the formation of a more harmonious society.
