This study aims to analyse the effect of contextual learning strategies on cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years at PAUD Tegar Tangguh. Contextual learning is an approach that emphasises active student involvement in the learning process through direct experiences that are relevant to everyday life. This study used quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 20 children who were divided into experimental and control groups. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and cognitive tests. The results showed that there was a significant increase in children's cognitive abilities in the experimental group using contextual learning strategies compared to the control group using conventional learning. The most developed cognitive ability indicators include logical thinking, problem solving, and grouping. Contextual learning strategies proved effective in increasing children's involvement during the learning process, thus supporting the optimisation of early childhood cognitive development. This study concludes that contextual learning strategies can be a relevant and effective method in supporting the cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years. The implementation of this strategy is expected to be widely applied to improve the quality of learning in early childhood education.
